Building your perfect garden room if it’s for work, leisure or for living in can be both an exciting and daunting prospect. With so many companies offering similar buildings and almost identical designs where do you start?

Many people try to imagine what a new garden room would like and what size they think they need before embarking on the often frustrating exercise of surfing the internet to see who’s offering the best deal on a building resembling their idea’s. Often they are confronted by adverts offering FREE DESIGN SERVICE or FREE SITE SURVEYS and FREE PLANNING SERVICE but are they really free and if so why are these companies giving them away?

The truth is they are not free.

There I’ve said it and I’ll repeat it site surveys and garden room designs are not free, there is a cost involved. If you think about it how many Garden room companies do you think there are in your area, within say 5 miles, 10 miles or even 20 miles? Not many I’m guessing and if you don’t believe me take a look on the internet. Even if there is a garden room company within 5 miles they still have to travel to your property, pay for fuel, spend time measuring up and oh yes, up to 2 hours trying to convince you why you should put your hand in your pocket and by a garden room from them. So you can see from this scenario why it’s impossible to carry out a survey for nothing and the motives behind saying they can.

But their design service is free though, isn’t it? What about the design service for off the shelf garden buildings with pre-designed dimensions and configurations they’re free surely. Not really no. These companies have taken time and effort upfront which does reduce further design costs down the line, however there will be costs involved in helping clients with their special requirements and additional options.

FREE custom design garden room service, bespoke build. This is a classic. How many interior designers or architects do you know that will offer their services for free? I don’t know about you but I don’t know a single one. But garden room companies expect customers to believe that they will design their bespoke garden room for FREE, no cost, zilch. And do you know what? Many people believe exactly that. And so they send emails to so many companies offering free this and free that, they forget who’s designed what or offering that but it doesn’t matter because it’s all free.

In the end the bespoke design costs are either added to the cost of the building or what most commonly happens is the garden room company has already has plans of your design in their archives and so it’s not really custom designed at all. Ever been to a party when someone has the same shirt or dress as you?

My point is here that site surveys and custom designs for garden rooms come at a cost and are not free. Find out how we can help you!
